True Love , The love we keep chasing… 10/11/2026 Detroit , Michigan 06:00am

Today I find myself reflecting on a question that has followed me for many years. The search for true love is not about finding easy answers. We come into this world without instructions, we learn through joy and through wounds, and every experience leaves a mark. I think about how different life might be if every child grew up surrounded by steady, dependable love. That kind of love creates safety and belonging. But when that cycle breaks, when a girl isn’t loved by her father or a boy doesn’t feel safe with his mother, something essential goes missing. And sometimes we spend years trying to fill that empty space. If I’m honest, this is not just theory for me. It’s personal. There have been moments when I gave love and wondered if I would ever receive it in return. I have felt alone, even when people were around me. Yet, despite that, I still believe we carry the child inside of us, still hoping, still waiting. That child in me is still looking for peace. My faith tells me that God is love, 1 John 4:8, and that truth steadies me. Human love can fail. But divine love becomes a model for patience, forgiveness, and grace. I don’t have all the answers, but I know this. Love matters. Love heals. And without it, even success feels hollow. Even the most beautiful life feels empty. So my reflection today is simple. If we want a different world, we must learn to give what we may not have received. To become the safe place we once wished for. And if love feels absent right now, that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. It means the search is still shaping us. And that in itself is a kind of hope. God help us.
